Several new schools were approved for membership in the Utah High School Activities Association next year. The new member schools will be competing in at least the junior varsity level next year in the 1A, 2A and 5A ranks. Two schools were not approved pending more information on facilities.

The new public school in Herriman was approved for membership in 5A's Region 3. Ogden Preparatory Academy, a charter school, was approved as an associate member in Region 17.

Pinnacle High School, a charter school in Price, was approved for membership in Region 19.

Diamond Ranch Academy, a private boarding school in Hurricane, was approved for a two-year period in Region 13.

An application for Legacy Preparatory Academy, a charter school, was tabled until January because of some questions regarding facilities.

Liberty Academy, a charter in Salem, submitted an application for participation in 1A, but it was tabled until next year because the facilities were substandard and the school has only 38 students enrolled.
