The New York Islanders have recalled former Utah Grizzlies forward Joel Rechlicz from the Bridgeport Sound Tigers. Rechlicz, who played 45 games with the Grizzlies this season, recorded an assist Thursday night for the Islanders in his NHL debut against New York.
Rechlicz was reassigned to Bridgeport from Utah on Feb. 18 after playing in 45 games with the Grizzlies, tallying one assist and 110 penalty minutes. The 6-foot-1 enforcer is the second former Utah player to debut with the Islanders in the last week and the third this season.
Andrew MacDonald played in his first NHL game Saturday. Trevor Smith played in his first NHL game on Dec. 31.
