PROVO, Utah — Jason Lyle Black played the piano backwards on national television. The Ellen DeGeneres Show featured the BYU accounting major as part of its Most Talented Audience sequence on Jan. 25. Black played "The Entertainer" on the piano backwards, lying down and even used his head to work the pedals.
Mormon Times interviews Black about his experience on the Ellen show and about his creation of piano spoofs — humorous combinations of songs and styles such as the Star Wars theme played like Billy Joel's Piano Man.
Black plans several concerts in the next few months. He will play some of his own songs as well as his parody songs — and will create some new spoofs based on audience requests. Information about upcoming appearances are available on Black's Web site www.JasonLyleBlack.com.
