SANDY — The woman in charge of a middle school cafeteria has been arrested for investigation of multiple counts of sex abuse over a nine-month period with a boy she met at the school.
Jamie Lynn Greenwood, 41, was booked into the Salt Lake County Jail Monday for investigation of five counts of unlawful sexual activity with a minor, a third-degree felony.
Greenwood is the lunch manager at Eastmont Middle School, 10100 S. 1300 East. She was hired in 2006.
Greenwood met the boy "when he attended the middle school where Jamie was employed," according to jail records. She is on paid administrative leave pending the outcome of an investigation by the Canyons School District, said district spokeswoman Jennifer Toomer-Cook.
From March 2009 until January 2010, Greenwood "engaged in unlawful sexual activity" with a boy, now 16, jail records state. The victim was a friend of Greenwood's son, according to jail records.
It was unclear Tuesday if any sexual activity occurred while the boy was still a student at the middle school. Sandy police released a statement that said "her position as a lunch room supervisor did not aid in the relationship."
The victim said he was "forced" into performing multiple sex acts with Greenwood because she threatened "to tell his mother and friends what was going on between them," jail documents state.
Greenwood also bought the boy hundreds of dollars worth of gifts "and then said he had to repay her in sexual favors," the report states.
During an interview with police, Greenwood admitted to having sex with the boy on at least 10 occasions, both in her car and her house, according to jail records.
"Jamie said she knew what she was doing was wrong but let it continue," the report states.
The Salt Lake County District Attorney's Office will review the case for formal charges. Police do not believe there are additional victims.
