WEST VALLEY CITY — Hoping a return to the E Center brings the good fortune that has so far eluded the team, the Utah Blaze continue their season tonight when they host the Boosier-Shreveport Battle Wings.

The Blaze, winless in their first three games back in action after the Arena Football League resumed operations under new ownership, have had some decent defensive performances but have struggled moving the ball and are averaging less than 43 points per game.

The Battle Wings are led by Raymond Philyaw, who has thrown for 26 touchdowns and averaged nearly 66 points per game.

Utah's biggest weapon is return specialist Brandon Hampton. The speedster has returned three kicks for touchdowns and averages 25.5 yards per return. His ability, coupled with the Blaze's inability to move the ball effectively, has led Utah opponents to simply boot the ball into the stands rather than risk a big play from Hampton.

Aaron Boone leads Utah's receivers with 25 receptions for 252 yards and seven touchdowns. Chris Francies has added 20 catches for 232 yards and another three scores.

After tonight's home game, the Blaze have a bye week and then hit the road for a pair of games at Milwaukee and Spokane. Utah's next home game will be May 28 against former Utah coach Danny White's Arizona Rattlers.
