EDINBURG, Texas — Kevin Arendse's 10th-inning, walk-off base hit put an exclamation point on a storybook season for Utah Valley as the Wolverines came from behind to defeat Northern Colorado 4-3 in the Great West Tournament Championship on Saturday. UVU trailed 3-1 in the eighth when Goose Kallunki delivered a two-out, two-run single to left to tie the game and Arendse ended it when he singled home tournament MVP Chris Benson with one out in the 10th. Utah Valley finishes the season with a 42-17 record — and on a 14-game winning streak — and with both the GWC regular season and tournament titles.

"I've never been around a team like this. They rely on each other. It's one guy after another," said UVU head coach Eric Madsen. "They've made it so easy for me to coach. You know they're going to get it done."

The Great West Conference does not have an automatic bid into the NCAA Tournament and any school in the conference would need an at-large bid to enter the tournament.
