HIALEAH, Fla. — Police say a gunman shot and killed his ex-girlfriend outside a South Florida restaurant where she worked, then targeted six other women inside.
According to Hialeah police, 38-year-old Gerardo Regalado killed four women and wounded three others at the Yoyito Restaurant on Sunday night.
Detective Eddie Rodriguez says that after shooting and killing his 24-year-old ex-girlfriend in an argument in the parking lot, Regalado went inside the restaurant and "went straight for the women."
Four were pronounced dead at the scene. Police say the other three victims remained hospitalized Monday in critical condition.
Regalado was found dead of an apparent suicide a few blocks away. Rodriguez says he was found with the same weapon used in the restaurant shootings.
