SANTAQUIN — Three people, including two children, were killed early Wednesday following a rollover accident on I-15.

Just before 2:30 a.m., a northbound SUV carrying six members of a Provo family drifted off to the side of the road, and the driver tried to overcorrect, according to the Utah Highway Patrol.

The vehicle rolled through the median, into the opposite lanes of travel and down onto a frontage road.

Edgar Ramirez, 32, his 11-year-old daughter Helen Giselle Munoz and 4-year-old Stephanie Roxette Ramirez Munoz, were pronounced dead at the scene.

His wife, 32-year-old Helen Concepcion Ramirez, was initially transported to the hospital in critical condition but later upgraded to serious.

Josefina Isabel Ramirez Munoz, 6, and Eliana Ramirez, 1, were both taken to area hospitals.

Officials believe the group was coming back from a family vacation when they crashed.
