Richard B. Wirthlin, beloved husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family on March 16, 2011, the day after his eightieth birthday. Richard was born to Joseph L. and Madeline B. Wirthlin March 15, 1931 in Salt Lake City, Utah. Richard married Jeralie Mae Chandler in the Salt Lake Temple, November 23, 1956. Richard was a powerful force for good in all his endeavors. He blessed his posterity with a firm foundation built through his example and love. His sharp intellect, competitive drive and endless energy served him well as founder of Wirthlin Worldwide and trusted counselor to President Ronald Reagan and other world leaders. Richard had a strong and enduring testimony of the gospel of Jesus Christ and faithfully served in many church leadership positions, including as a member of the Second Quorum of the Seventy of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. His greatest and most cherished legacy is his family. He is survived by his eternal companion Jeralie, children Richard (Joni), Mary Ann (Doug), Mark (Allison), Carolyn (Brian), Michael, Jill (Robert) and John (Ellice), twenty-seven grandchildren and six great grandchildren, brother David and sister Gwen. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Joseph, sister Judy and daughter Susan. Funeral services will be at 11:00 am, Saturday, March 19, 2011 at the Cottonwood Fifth Ward, 5913 South Highland Drive, Salt Lake. Friends and family may call Friday from 6-8:00 pm at Larkin Mortuary, 260 East South Temple Street and at the ward from 9:30 to 10:30 am. Interment Salt Lake City Cemetery.
