PROVO — Dan Wells' novel "I Don't Want to Kill You" won the 2011 Whitney Award for Best Novel of the Year at the LDStorymakers banquet on May 5.
Thirty-five Mormon novelists were nominated as finalists in seven categories for the 2011 Whitney Awards.

Best Historical: "Letters in the Jade Dragon Box" by Gale Sears

Best Mystery/Suspense: "Rearview Mirror," by Stephanie Black
Best Youth Fiction – Speculative: "Variant," by Robison Wells
Best Speculative Fiction: "The Alloy of Law: A Mistborn Novel," by Brandon Sanderson
Jack Weyland and Douglas Thayer were honored as Achievement Winners.
