Evelyn (Evlambia) Lendaris1922 ~ 2012Evelyn (Evlambia) Fasoulakis Lendaris entered into eternal rest on Sunday, May 6, 2012, surrounded by her family in Sacramento. She was born in Anopoli, Crete, Greece on December 14, 1922. Evelyn came to the United States in July 1950 after meeting and marrying her husband (Nick Lendaris) in the Bahamas, and prior to residing in Utah (West Jordan). Evelyn's spirit was felt with every one she touched and everywhere she went. She was an active and dedicated member of the Greek Orthodox Church (Holy Trinity Cathedral) and its community (especially the Daughters of Minos). She moved to Sacramento in 1992 and became an active member of the Greek Orthodox Church of the Annunciation. We will miss her delightful smile, humor, cooking and hospitality (in the kitchen making sure there was enough food and drink for her extended "Greek Street Family"); cultural events (cooking at the Food Festivals, Glendi's or weddings, showing everyone how to dance her favorite "Sousta"). Her greatest joy in life were her grandchildren Strati and Anastasia Vourakis (Andrea Lendaris); Catherine and Christine Chachas (Irene and John); Nicholas and Maria Lendaris ( George and Antonia; and Andrew Weeks (Stacey and Dan), who all held a very special place in her heart. She was preceded in death by her husband, Nick Lendaris and is survived by her children George Lendaris (Antonia), Napa, CA; Andrea Lendaris, Sacramento, CA; Irene Chachas (John), Ely, NV; Greg Lendaris, Sacramento, CA; and Stacey Weeks (Dan), Corte Madera, CA. She is also survived by her brother George and sister Eleni, Crete, Greece. A Trisagion will be held at the Greek Orthodox Church of the Annunciation, 3022 F Street, Sacramento, CA on Wednesday evening May 9th at 6:00 p.m. Funeral at the Church will be Thursday, May 10th at 11:30 a.m. Memorial donations may be made to the Greek Orthodox Church of the Annunciation Building Fund, Sacramento or Nativity of Christ Church, Novato, CA. A very special thank you to Kaiser Hospice, for their tremendous help and comfort to our family.
