SALT LAKE CITY — The former site of a popular arcade and amusement park attraction has been sold once again.
The former Utah Fun Dome located at 4998 S. Galleria Drive in Murray was sold, the Salt Lake office of commercial real estate firm C.B. Richard Ellis announced Tuesday. The 27-acre mixed-use site, which includes a 154,000 square-foot commercial building, was purchased by Utah-based Kimball Investments and ICO Construction.
Financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
The Fun Dome had housed an indoor go-kart track, laser tag, air hockey tables and amusement rides as well as a bowling alley and miniature golf courses inside and outside the building.
The new owners plan a mixed-use residential and commercial development, according to a news release.
Built in 1983, the site right off the I-15 freeway was home to the 49th Street Galleria, the Fun Dome and briefly Salt Lake Valley College in 2004 before being converted into the Grand Buffet at the Salt Lake Pavilion the next year. The site has been mostly vacant since the demise of the pavilion.
