The unthinkable is happening: A man with a gun has just walked into your home/theater/classroom/restaurant and starts killing people. You wish you could do more than run, scream, call 911, or beg for your life — but you can't. The police will be there in minutes, but between now and then, all you can do is hide or play dead.
The time to prepare — to arm yourself — has passed. Remember that the police cannot protect you. The government cannot protect you. You are responsible to protect your life and the lives of your loved ones. You cannot rely on anyone else.
Those that would wish for a gun free society would also wish for the weak and the few to cower in fear from the strong and the many. As you would responsibly wear your seat belt and look both ways when crossing the street, you need to prepare for the unthinkable.
