Former Utah State running back Kerwynn Williams signed to the Arizona Cardinals practice squad on Thursday.

Williams took the spot of running back Chris Rainey, who was cut from Arizona's practice squad.

The Cardinals made several moves Thursday regarding their running backs, most notably placing Jonathan Dwyer on the reserve/non-football injury list. Dwyer was arrested Wednesday on domestic abuse charges. Arizona also signed Jalen Parmele to the active roster.

Williams, a second-year pro, was waived by the Chargers near the end of August. He spent the majority of the 2013 season on the practice squads for both San Diego and the Indianapolis Colts. He played in one regular-season game in 2013 and had a 28-yard kickoff return. During the 2014 preseason, Williams had six carries for 10 yards and a touchdown for San Diego.
