Oregon offensive lineman Stetzon Bair would love to be in two places at once right now.
Currently he's in Dallas, preparing with teammates for Monday night's college football national championship game against Ohio State.
He would also like to be home in Oregon with his wife, Bethany, who was scheduled to deliver the couple's baby son Saturday, but has not yet.
Post by Stetzon Bair.Bair, a returned Mormon missionary, told the Eugene Register-Guard it would be nice if the delivery was delayed another day.
"I hope he doesn't come until Tuesday, but if anything happens, I'll fly back," Bair told the Register-Guard. "I'm super excited. There are no words to explain it."
Bair told Nick Bromberg of Yahoo Sports that leaving his wife at a critical time was a hard decision.
"Yes ... the hardest decision for me was to come out here," Bair told Bromberg. "Leaving my wife at this time, this close in the pregnancy, was the hardest but after talking to my mother-in-law, she went out there … it was a little more comforting."
Bair, a junior, started out as a defensive lineman but switched due to injuries on the offensive line. He is currently a back-up at left tackle, the Register Guard reported.
Bair served his LDS mission in Tucson, Arizona. His brother, Brandon Bair, played for the Ducks in the 2011 national championship game.
Bethany Bair played college volleyball at Weber State before transferring to Oregon and playing for the Ducks.
