Randy Dodson, the publisher of Fairways Magazine, was presented with the prestigious Gold Club Award at the annual Utah Golf Association meeting at Oakridge Country Club last week.
Dodson has been the publisher of the magazine for 24 years and has built it into “the best regional golf association magazine in the world,’’ according to Joe Watts, who presented him with the honor.
Player of the year awards were also presented, with current PGA Tour professional Zac Blair earning men’s player of the year honors and Sirene Blair (no relation) earning women’s player of the year honors. Sue Nyhus was named the women’s senior player of the year and Kirk Siddens was named the men’s senior player of the year.
Other tributes were given to Sally Milbank for the UGA Lady Award and Doc Iverson as the Volunteer of the Year Award.
