COTTONWOOD HEIGHTS — The city has hired Dean Lundell as director of finance.
Lundell, who has a master’s in accounting from BYU and is a licensed CPA, recently served as director of finance for Pleasant Grove. He began his career working for the Larry H. Miller Sports and Entertainment Group, serving as controller for the Delta Center (now Vivint Smart Home Arena) for three years and then for a year as the controller for the Jordan Commons Megaplex Theatres in Sandy.
Lundell’s career in government began in South Jordan in 2001, where he worked for nine years in various positions, including senior accountant, city treasurer and finance director. He currently serves as an assistant state representative on the executive board for the Utah Government Finance Officers Association.
Lundell and his wife, Amy, have a son and a daughter. He replaces Steve Fawcett, who announced his retirement earlier this year.
