Enterprise 2014 Stat Recap

ENTERPRISE — In a rebuilding year for Enterprise head coach Malin Williams things are still looking bright for the Wolves.

A second-place finish in the region last season, along with a trip to the quarterfinals of the 2A playoffs, has Enterprise aiming to achieve the same success it found in 2014.

"You always look to build off the previous season, and that's what we're going to do. We always want to win a state championship, but more than that I just work to improve. We want to be a little bit better than we were last year, so we'd like to get to the same or a little farther until we are there," said Williams.

"It was a three-way tie for second place last year, and we'd like to maybe move up to where we aren't in a tie for second. We'd either like to win it outright or why not go out and win the region."

The offseason has been quite a transition for Enterprise. The Wolves lost a slew of starters and coaches and to top it all off, changing to a spread offense has presented struggles.

"The kids have worked really hard, and I think we're coming along as far as transitioning from one offense to the next," said Williams. "We always focus on getting stronger in the offseason. We continue that, and with the change in offenses we're focusing pretty hard on that."

For Williams, the old cliche of doing your best on the field is one of the cornerstones for his team as the season approaches.

"I mostly want to look for effort and intelligence. Of course, you want to win. That kind of goes without saying, but we want to play the best football we can," said Williams. "I know it's kind of cliche, but the reason it's cliche is because everybody believes it. Just play the best you can play."

Head Coach: Malin Williams is entering the fourth year of his coaching tenure for Enterprise and has compiled a 14-14 record over the past few seasons. He's a graduate of Enterprise High School.

Bottom line: Enterprise culminated last season with a trip to the quarterfinals, the Wolves' best showing in the playoffs since 2009. There are some holes to fill after a slew of kids graduated, as well as some coaching changes. It will only benefit Enterprise to throw a returning quarterback into the mix, but the real question is can the players stepping into lead roles bring an even keel to the team.
