Broadway star Laura Osnes praises her husband and explains the importance of her Christian faith in a video interview posted Monday by the Mormon Tabernacle Choir.
Osnes was this year's guest artist for the annual Mormon Tabernacle Choir and Orchestra at Temple Square Pioneer Day concerts, held July 17 and 18. Osnes played the lead role in the Broadway production of “Rodgers & Hammerstein’s Cinderella” and was nominated for a Tony Award. During the concert, she introduced the audience her "real-life Prince Charming and husband," Nathan Johnson.
In the post-concert video interview, Osnes shares how she and Johnson met, the story behind their first kiss and how the couple prioritizes their relationship. "The job and the career are great, but my companionship with him and my marriage with him is just really important to us," Osnes said in the video.
Osnes also discusses her faith in the interview. The Broadway star was raised in a Christian family, and she says her faith has remained a "very important part" of her life.
"What doesn't kill you makes you stronger, and I think that a lot of that is due to my faith and due to just the strength and the joy and the peace and the wisdom that I think only God can bring," Osnes said.
