The cast of BYUtv’s popular sketch comedy show, “Studio C,” participated in a Face to Face event on Wednesday. The live broadcast originated from Brigham Young University’s broadcasting center in Provo, Utah and included Matt Meese, Mallory Everton, Stacey Harkey, Whitney Call, Stephen Meek, Jason Gray, James Perry, Natalie Madsen, Jeremy Warner and Adam Berg. The ten members of the cast, who are all members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, answered questions submitted by LDS youth through social media and on LDS.org.
They answered questions about maintaining church standards, obtaining self-confidence, missionary work, applying Christ’s Atonement and several other topics. The cast even answered some behind the scenes questions about writing and filming episodes of “Studio C” and the audience was able to laugh about the dancing advice that Stacey Harkey shared with them.
Several of the cast members touched on a recurring theme of how to find peace in a world that is often chaotic. Everton said that finding peace is one of the reasons she loves living the gospel while Harkey said that he often finds peace by studying the scriptures.
Gray shared how he was able to find peace when his daughter suffered from a brain aneurism last December. When his wife and critically ill daughter were life-flighted to Primary Children’s Hospital, Gray said he felt so alone with an amount of pain that he didn’t even think was possible. “But,” he said, “I can testify of the power of the peace that the Atonement can bring.”
This was the sixth Face to Face event for LDS youth. Others have featured The Piano Guys, Lindsey Stirling, David Archuleta, Elder David A. Bednar and Elder Ronald A. Rasband along with several other Church leaders. Elder Jeffrey R. Holland conducted a similar event for young single adult members of the Church. All of the Face to Face events can be viewed on LDS.org.
