ROY — The Utah Department of Transportation advises motorists that construction on 5600 South in Roy will begin Monday, May 9, on a project to add an additional westbound travel lane between 1900 West and 2200 West.

Improvements will be made west of the I-15/5600 South Interchange and are intended to improve roadway safety and reduce congestion on the northbound I-15 off-ramp and westbound 5600 South during peak traffic times. This project is expected to take up to two months.

During construction, travel lanes will be maintained along 5600 South and at cross-streets, however, they may be narrowed slightly, and lane shifts are possible. Motorists should expect travel delays between I-15 and 2200 West, especially during peak commute times, and are advised to consider alternate routes. Business and residential accesses will be maintained.
