Max Akin, the star quarterback at Fossil Ridge High in Fort Worth, Texas, made news last week, not because he won homecoming king but because he didn't keep the crown for long.

After being named homecoming king, Aiken handed the crown to his friend and team manager K.L Norwood, who has cerebral palsy.

Akin said that he knew Norwood wanted the crown badly.

"I didn't know when I would have the right time to do it," Akin said. "But I saw K.L., came over and gave him a hug, and I knew that he wanted that crown more than anything."

Akin gave Norwood the crown at halftime of a game where he passed for over 200 yards, ran for 60 yards and scored four touchdowns.

The QB's act of generosity has been featured on cbssports.com, USA Today and CNN. Photos of the friends have flooded social media.

"It was absolutely terrific," said Norwood about getting the crown.
