SANDY — The Empowering Fearless Birth Event and film premiere will be Saturday, Feb. 18, at the Miller Conference Center, 9750 S. 300 West, Sandy.

According to a news release, the purpose of the event is to help women preparing to give birth find resources, provide assistance to those who have suffered birth trauma and support women in their mothering choices.

Birth services for mothers and fathers will be accessible, including classes on prenatal care, mental health, family-centered cesarean sections, childbirth classes, hormonal changes, natural healing and postpartum support. Films shown at the event are designed to help parents prepare for peaceful and educated births and are done respectfully and discreetly, according to the news release.

The general admission ticket price is $10 and allows participants to enter the event starting at 1 p.m. General admission includes access to vendors, classes, workshops, films and a chance to win prizes. A VIP ticket is $99, but a discount for Deseret News readers is available. Enter the discount code Deseret News and then choose "Show Available Tickets" to receive the price of $29 for a single ticket or $50 for a couples ticket. Services fees will be added. Classes for VIP ticket holders start at 9 a.m. VIP events include morning film premieres and classes, a visit to the green room with refreshments, lunch, a T-shirt, a gift bag and a meet and greet with the keynote speaker.
