Members of the Miss Utah Judges Panel took the stage Friday night during round two of the 2017 preliminary competition for the Miss Utah Scholarship Organization. The evening’s events, held in Salt Lake City’s Capitol Theatre, featured a duet by singers Nikki Bohne Lloyd and Jessie Clark Funk. The duo sang the popular song, “For Good” from the renowned Broadway Musical “Wicked” as a tribute to the night’s contestants.

“We just wanted to dedicate this tonight to the girls competing and for all their hard work and hopefully the friendships that they’ve made that will last a lifetime,” said Lloyd. The actress sang the part of Glinda in the number, having starred as the Good Witch of the North in the National Broadway Tour of “Wicked.”

Funk, a youth motivational speaker and professional singer, sang the part of Elphaba, or the Wicked Witch of the West. Funk became a rising pop star as a 14-year-old when she signed with an independent affiliate of Sony Records, reported the Deseret News. After a period of four months, however, Funk decided that lifestyle wasn’t for her. She is now the executive director of the non-profit organization Ivy Girl Academy.
