Zero Fatalities and the Utah Department of Transporation team up to make Utahns drive a little safer.

And in doing so, they create clever overhead messages for the highways, all of which are dead-serious about highway safety.

The warning signs, called variable message signs (VMS), are meant to get a driver’s attention, hoping to keep their minds occupied with thoughts about how to stay safe on the road.

A group of 10 people, made up of those on UDOT and Zero Fatalities, help create the messages, poking fun at different cultural topics or memes.

And they’ve never used the same message twice, the Deseret News reported.

Through social media and with some help from UDOT, we’ve compiled 18 of the funniest clever road messages. Scroll through and nominate your favorite in the poll below.
