SALT LAKE CITY — The Salt Lake Stallions have set their final roster for the inaugural season of The Alliance of American Football, and the 52-player team definitely has a local feel.

Seventeen of the original Stallions played in the Beehive State during their college careers at BYU, Utah and Utah State. Those players include:

BYU: Tanner Balderree (fullback), Micah Hannemann (safety), Tuni Kanuch (offensive line), Jordan Leslie (receiver) and Handsome Tanielu (defensive line).

Utah: Dres Anderson (receiver), Matt Asiata (running back), Kaelin Clay (receiver), Anthony Denham (tight end), Tenny Palepoi (defensive line), Gionni Paul (linebacker), Jeremiah Poutasi (offensive line), Trevor Reilly (linebacker), Sealver Siliga (defensive line) and Salesi Uhatafe (offensive line).

Utah State: Will Davis (cornerback) and Anthony Williams (linebacker).

The Stallions will be coached by former Utah offensive coordinator Dennis Erickson.

Other players in the skilled positions include quarterbacks Austin Allen (Arkansas), Matt Linehan (Idaho) and Josh Woodrum (Liberty); wide receivers Kenny Bell (Nebraska), Adonis Jennings (Temple), Sam Mobley (Catawba) and DeMornay Pierson-El (Nebraska); and running backs Terrell Newby (Nebraska), Branden Oliver (Buffalo) and C.J. Smith (Northern Illinois).

The AAF includes eight teams: the Stallions, Orlando Appollos, Atlanta Legends, Memphis Express, Arizona Hotshots, San Diego Fleet, Birmingham Iron and San Antonio Commanders.

Salt Lake begins its 10-week schedule on the road — debuting on Sunday, Feb. 10, at Arizona, followed by a game the following Saturday at Birmingham. The Stallions' first home game will take place on Saturday, Feb. 23, at Rice-Eccles Stadium versus the Hotshots.
