LEHI — Butterflies, tarantulas, large beetles and more creepy crawly friends can be found at Thanksgiving Point's new event, the Butterfly Biosphere.

In addition to more than 1,000 butterflies from around the globe, the biosphere also houses 20 different species of tarantulas. Construction for the biosphere began in 2017; it is set to open Jan. 18.

The biosphere will also house exhibits aimed at educating the public about different insects.

The event is included in the Thanksgiving Point membership plan. Tickets cost $20 for adults without memberships. Tickets to the Butterfly Biosphere are available on Thanksgiving Point's website at thanksgivingpoint.org/experience/butterfly-biosphere/.
