A teacher’s viral Facebook post led not only to inspiring changes at her school, but a generous donation from Jennifer Lopez and Alex Rodriguez, CNN reported on Thursday.

The celebrity couple donated a year’s worth of food to Jacksboro Elementary School in Tennessee after seeing the viral post from teacher Brooke Goins, according to CNN.

“Today I cried at work,” Goins wrote in her Oct. 2 Facebook post.

A student told Goins that he did not get enough food to eat at home. Goins immediately jumped into action, pooling money with several other teachers to purchase food for the boy, according to CBS News.

“I did not write this for anyone to get praise, nobody did it for the praise,” Goins wrote in her post. “I want people to know that teachers are humans, we love your kids and want the very best for them. Some days we get frustrated and feel overwhelmed, but today we did what was best for a child. Will it show on a test score? Nope! Do we care? Nope!

The post quickly went viral, leading the school to create a food pantry for children in need, according to CNN. But that was not the only positive outcome from this teacher’s heartfelt post.

The story caught the attention of Lopez and Rodriguez, who said it brought tears to their eyes, according to an Instagram post from Lopez on Wednesday.

“When we heard about the students and amazing teachers at Jacksboro Elementary in Tennessee, we knew we had to help,” Lopez wrote on Instagram.

In the Instagram video that Lopez shared, she and Rodriguez FaceTime with Goins and some students to tell them about their donation. Through the company Tiller and Hatch (of which Lopez and Rodriguez are part owners), the couple will donate meals for every student at the school for a year, according to CNN.

The donation is “one of the best things we’ve been able to do,” Lopez wrote on Instagram.

She also shared that having ownership in a business is important to her because “it allows us to have a say in creating things that make people’s lives better and have partners that share our passion for giving back. Because giving back and being there for others is really what matters most.”
