Disney Plus had a rough start on launch day with thousands of users reporting connectivity issues.

Well, according to Disney, the servers crashed due to high demand and how the engineers and designers “architected the app,” The Verge reports.

As reported by the Deseret News, new subscribers struggled to log into the app. A picture of Ralph from “Wreck-It Ralph” appeared on the screen, suggesting there were connectivity issues.

“The consumer demand for Disney Plus has exceeded our high expectations,” a Disney spokesperson said at the time, according to the Deseret News. “We are pleased by this incredible response and are working to quickly resolve the current user issue. We appreciate your patience.”

Some considered the issues were a result of Amazon or third-party platforms that carried the app. But Disney told The Verge that these were untrue rumors.

“It had to do with the way we architected the app,” said Kevin Mayer, head of Disney’s direct to consumer division, according to The Verge. “It was not Amazon.”

In related news, thousands of Disney Plus subscribers reported being hacked. Members of the dark Web stole subscribers’ passwords and sold them to others, according to the Deseret News.
