With the 2019 college football season underway as of Saturday, the Heisman campaign for Utah State quarterback Jordan Love has officially commenced and let it be known, the Aggies aren’t pulling any punches.
Utah State football is pulling out all the stops in an attempt to promote the junior quarterback for the Heisman Memorial Trophy, which is given annually to the most outstanding college football player in the country.
Utah State created the Twitter hashtag #10VEforHesiman as part of the effort — Love’s jersey number is No. 10 — and throughout the day Monday, another aspect of the campaign was revealed.
Media members across America received #10VEforHeisman-themed packages from Utah State, complete with a Love-centric notepad, and even better, white candy hearts with the words ‘VOTE 10VE’ chiseled into them.
Needless to say, the campaign is doing rather well.
And a few more...
Love earned second-team All-Mountain West honors as a sophomore last season, and was a semifinalist for the Davey O’Brien Award, which is awarded to the nation’s top quarterback.
A native of Bakersfield, California, Love threw for 3,567 yards and 32 touchdowns in 2018, breaking five school records in the process.
Utah State kicks off its season Friday night at Wake Forest, at 6 p.m. MT on the ACC Network.
