The National Weather Service announced Sunday afternoon that temperatures of 100 degrees were reported at Salt Lake City International Airport, “tying the all time record high for the month of September. We have only hit 100 degrees at SLC one other time in September: Sept. 8, 1979.” The city can expect sunny skies and a Labor Day high of 97 degrees on Monday, with highs dropping into the low 90s Tuesday through Thursday as thunderstorms move in through the second half of the week.
