Jeremy Renner teased a possible pairing of Wanda Maximoff and Kate Bishop, two superheroes who were mentored by Renner’s character, Clint Barton.
- Barton, known as Hawkeye, gave some heavy advice to Wanda Maximoff in “Avengers: Age of Ultron.” In that film, Wanda worked against the Avengers until she saw that Ultron was too powerful to keep in check. Barton advised Maximoff to do her job and perform as an Avenger. She joined the team immediately thereafter.
In the “Hawkeye” series, Barton will take Kate Bishop under his wing to teach her the way of being a superhero and doing the right thing. So could the two heroines ever link up?
- Renner said that he could see a world in which Maximoff and Bishop link up. He said the two of them should team up in a future series.
- “What if, right?” Renner said, a clear reference to Marvel’s “What If...?” series.

Indeed, Marvel’s “What If...?” centers around putting new spins on old stories. For example, the second-to-last episode told the story of what would have happened if Ultron had won in “Avengers: Age of Ultron.”
- That said, we’re expecting to see Wanda again in the upcoming “Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness,” which is set to debut in May.
