It looks like Gina Carano will appear on “Running Wild with Bear Grylls” after all.
Carano — the former star of “The Mandalorian” — recently tweeted that National Geographic plans to air her episode in the future.
- “Want to hear something cool? Just so happens you WILL be able to see my @beargrylls episode on @natgeo after all!! Bear is a real one. I’m so glad you’re going to get to see it. My heart is so full.”
Was Gina Carano cut from ‘Bear Gryllis’?
Back in March, multiple reports suggested Disney+ may have cut an upcoming episode of National Geographic’s “Running Wild with Bear Grylls” that featured Carano, as I wrote about for the Deseret News.
- The show airs on National Geographic and Disney+ and would have shown Carano and Grylls visiting Italy’s Dolomites mountain range.
- However, TV Maze said a release for the show’s upcoming episodes did not include the one with Carano.
Why did Gina Carano leave ‘Star Wars’?
Carano’s absence made sense at the time because she had been fired from Lucasfilm, which is owned by Disney. Carano was cut from Lucasfilm and the “Star Wars” franchise after she shared a social media post that compared attacks on Jews during the Nazi Germany era to how people are treated today for their political beliefs, as I explained for the Deseret News.
- “Gina Carano is not currently employed by Lucasfilm and there are no plans for her to be in the future. Nevertheless, her social media posts denigrating people based on their cultural and religious identities are abhorrent and unacceptable,” Lucasfilm said in a statement (via i09).
When does the Gina Carano ‘Bear Gryllis’ episode air?
The episode will reportedly run May 10 at 9 p.m. ET.
