Defending 4A state champion Crimson Cliffs finished with the top scoring average in region play this season and will be the favorite at the 4A state tournament next week at The Ridge Golf Course in West Valley City.
Crimson Cliffs heads into state as the Region 9 champs, one of four 4A teams that’s confident heading into the state tournament after claiming region title hardware. The other region champions were Orem in Region 8, Park City in Region 10 and Green Canyon in Region 11.
The state tournament gets underway with the first round on Wednesday and the final round on Thursday.
The three individual region champs were Timpanogos’ Carter Papke, Crimson Cliffs’ Boston Bracken, Park City’s Rawson Hardy and Sky View’s Mark Cromwell. Bracken finished with the top region scoring average in 4A at 67.0, with Hardy right behind at 67.9.
