A new Wall Street Journal opinion piece from William McGurn makes a simple declaration: free Lori Loughlin.

Loughlin and her husband Mossimo Giannulli are accused of paying $500,000 in bribes so that their daughters, Olivia Jade and Isabella Rose Giannulli, could be crew team recruits for the University of Southern California.

The couple pleaded not guilty to the charges. The couple was slammed with additional charges last week, and they pleaded not guilty to those charges as well.

McGurn opines that federal prosecutors have treated Loughlin and Giannulli as though they were “Bonnie and Clyde,” but that isn’t the case.

The two allegedly cheated their daughters’ way into college, but that isn’t exactly a crime against the federal government.
