ORLANDO, Fla. — There’s a mock version of R2-D2 on sale at Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge that is fully customizable. It costs $25,000.

What is it?: The droid — which interacts with you, rolls around and is the same size and shape as the real R2-D2 — is available at the Droid Depot at the Black Spire Outpost on Batuu, the fictional world of Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge at Disney World.

Where?: The unit can be found at the back of the store.

Details: Two Droid Depot employees told this reporter that the R2-D2 unit is available for purchase. It can be customized to your specifications.

  • One cashier at the Droid Depot told the Deseret News that pink is a customizable color.

How many?: Per one cashier at the store, 11 people have bought the droid since Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge first opened. The cashier said it has been “about a month” since the last $25,000 droid was purchased.

However: Don’t expect to just pay $25,000. The cashier told the Deseret News that some buyers will forget to factor in shipping costs, which could be an additional $800.

One more: There’s another luxury item at the Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge park. Buyers can purchase a full-length stormtrooper armor suit for $6,500 (or 6,500 credits) at the Docking Bay 9 — First Order Cargo store. A cashier from that store said most people who buy it donate it to charity.
