A new first-look trailer for “Star Wars: The Mandalorian” dropped Monday night during ESPN’s “Monday Night Football,” and it’s full of Baby Yoda and small moments to get you hyped for the new season.
- The trailer aired during halftime of the game between the Arizona Cardinals and the Dallas Cowboys.
- It shows a scene of the Mandalorian (Pedro Pascal) meeting with Cara Dune (Gina Garano) and Greef Karga (Carl Weathers), saying he’s visiting them on professional business as he seeks to learn more about the Child (Baby Yoda).
- We see several flashes of moments, many of which we’ve seen before in previous TV spots and trailers.
The new season will release its first episode on Friday, Oct. 30. Disney Plus will release one episode per week, as it did during its first season.
More on the way
Rumors have existed for months that the show’s new season will include the return of Boba Fett and Ahsoka Tano, two major characters from the “Star Wars” universe.
But this is only the beginning. “Star Wars: The Mandalorian” star Giancarlo Esposito, who plays Moff Gideon on the show, told People magazine the new season will begin to show the depth of the “Star Wars” galaxy.
- “We’re living in a universe that is huge and there’s so much to explore, so I think this show is going to lay the groundwork for the depth and breath that’s gonna come in Season Three and Season Four, where you’re really gonna start to get answers.”
