Kanye West had quite a take during his presidential campaign, one that might have swayed an extra vote or two in his favor — the “Star Wars” prequel trilogy is better than the sequel trilogy.
What happened?
West spoke on the Joe Rogan podcast about a number of issues back at the end of October.
West turned his attention to Disney and the “Star Wars” franchise. He said the prequels were better than the sequels, and that he was a big fan of “Revenge of the Sith.”
- “They said that George Lucas’ prequels are worse than the corporate-made Disney ‘Star Wars.’ Like, ‘Revenge of the Sith?’ We saw how Darth Vader was made! Like, I watched that, like, 10 times during COVID. Like, ‘Don’t jump Anakin, I’ve got the high ground!’”
- “I’m saying even the prequels are better than anything that ...” he continued. “And I’m sorry Disney/’Star Wars’ design team. ... No man, this is George. This is his baby. That thing was set in his heart to show us as children the Hero’s Journey.”

The bigger picture
“Star Wars” fans are always debating which trilogy of films is better than the others. In most cases, the original trilogy stands alone as the top trilogy. The prequel trilogy was once maligned among the “Star Wars” community. But it has seen something of a resurgence as of late. Meanwhile, the sequel trilogy has been long criticized since its beginning, with fans remaining divisive over “The Last Jedi” and “Rise of Skywalker.”
