Legendary “Star Wars” actor David Prowse passed away over the weekend from complications related to COVID-19, his daughter said in a recent round of interviews, according to Deadline.
- The initial cause of death was not reported over the weekend. Prowse died at age 85 after a short illness, according to BBC News.
Prowse daughter Rachel told multiple U.K. outlets that her father — who was suffering from Alzheimer’s — was hospitalized from COVID-19 over the last two weeks, according to Deadline.
- “It’s horrible that COVID restrictions meant we did not get to see him and say goodbye. But when we went to collect his stuff from the hospital the nurse said what a cool guy he was. He was such a larger-than-life character. He would have loved to see himself trending on Twitter.”
