Tom Hanks’ sister has opened about how her brother is feeling after being infected with the coronavirus, and she’s feeling optimistic.

What’s going on:

  • Sandra Hanks Benoiton told the Daily Mail that she’s spoken with her brother about his diagnosis, according to Fox News.
  • She said: “I have communicated with my brother. He’s not great, but still OK.”
  • She said she wasn’t shocked by his diagnosis:  “No. He’s an actor, not a God (but) medical care in Australia is good.”
  • Benoiton reportedly moved to Italy in 2016. She remains there under lockdown. Such a lockdown is expected to last until April 3, according to Fox News.

  • As I wrote earlier this week, Tom Hanks and his wife, Rita Wilson, were released from a hospital in Australia. The couple remain in self-quarantine.
  • The couple’s son, Chet Hanks, announced in a video that his parents were feeling OK despite the diagnosis, The New York Times reports.
  • Chet Hanks said: “They’re still self-quarantined obviously, but they’re feeling a lot better so that’s a relief.”
  • Tom Hanks was recently roasted over his use of Vegemite in Australia.
