Alex Trebek turns 80 in July, and he will be marking the occasion with a new memoir.

“The Answer Is...: Reflections on My Life” will be released on July 21, the day before the longtime “Jeopardy!” host’s birthday, publisher Simon & Schuster announced on Tuesday, according to CNN.

Trebek, who has hosted the popular game show since 1984 and has lately been involved in a battle with stage 4 pancreatic cancer, will share his thoughts on topics such as marriage, parenthood and spirituality in the new memoir, according to the New York Times.

Trebek will also take on lighter topics, such as why he shaved his signature mustache, his opinions on “Jeopardy!” players Ken Jennings and James Holzhauer, and what he thought about Will Ferrell’s “Saturday Night Live” impression, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Although Trebek had initially been resistant to the idea of writing a memoir, the outpouring of support from fans following his cancer diagnosis in March 2019 changed his mind, the Times reported.

“I want people to know a little more about the person they have been cheering on for the past year,” Trebek wrote in the book, according to the Times.

Last month, Trebek reached the one-year mark since his diagnosis, despite the odds of an 18% survival rate, the Deseret News reported. Although the two-year survival rate for stage 4 pancreatic cancer patients is 7%, Trebek said that both he and his doctor felt confident that he would reach that milestone as well, according to the Deseret News.
