Chip and Joanna Gaines have come a long way since beginning their five-year journey on HGTV’s popular show “Fixer Upper” in 2013. Since the show ended, the Gaines have opened a hotel, bought a castle and are now poised to start their own TV network.
Named after Joanna Gaines’ furniture brand, Magnolia Home, the Magnolia Network was originally set to launch on Oct. 4. That plan has been postponed indefinitely due to the massive production delays caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, CNN reports.
In the meantime, the couple is premiering a four-hour special on Discovery’s DIY Network on April 26, Deadline reports. “Magnolia Presents: A Look Back & A Look Ahead” will follow the couple’s journey from “Fixer Upper” — which at its peak had 17 million viewers tuning in — to where they are now, with previously unseen footage and behind the scenes commentary.
The preview will also offer a sample of the 10 new series that were set to launch on Magnolia Network. One series features woodworker Clint Harp — a “Fixer Upper” favorite — and the others focus on everything from recipes, flower farming, kitchen remodels, family cross-country road trips, campground remodels, family remodels and even family dinners, according to Yahoo! News.
