Disney released a Dole Whip recipe Wednesday that has left fans wondering about its validity. But it appears Dole offers an entirely different option.

What happened:

  • On Wednesday, the Disneyland app shared a quick recipe to make your own Dole Whip, which included adding ice cream, pineapple juice and pineapple chunks into a blender. It’s a simple recipe.
  • But Disney Parks enthusiasts questioned the validity of the frozen treat because it doesn’t mention anything Dole.
  • Well, it turns out, Dole sells soft serve mix to help you create your own Dole Whip — or at least the closest thing to it.

Dole Whip soft serve mix

  • Dole sells Soft Serve Mix on Amazon. One of the most visible options weighs 4.4 pounds and serves about 89 people, according to the product description. It currently lists for about $25.
  • This is a dairy-free and gluten-free option.
  • You may need an ice cream maker to receive full effect. The bag’s instructions say you can upload the mix into a bucket, too, for freezing.

Bringing the two together

  • There’s a way to combine the Dole Whip mix along with the Disney recipe. The Disneyland recipe calls for “one big scoop of ice cream.” Using the Dole Whip soft service mix for that ingredient there could represent a blending of the two.

Meanwhile ...

  • Disney shared the official recipe for churros that are served at the park, too, as reported by the Deseret News. The company has shared that recipe as its parks remained closed over the coronavirus outbreak.
