The final post from Chadwick Boseman’s Twitter account is officially the most-liked post in the platform’s history, Variety reports.

The “Black Panther” star — who over seven years also brought iconic roles like Jackie Robinson, James Brown and Thurgood Marshall to life on the big screen — died on Aug. 28 after a four-year battle with colon cancer.

Boseman, 43, never spoke publicly about his diagnosis. The shocking news of his death broke last Friday evening and sent fans worldwide into a state of disbelief — especially over the fact that the actor was playing such heroic figures on screen while privately facing such a harrowing battle behind the scenes.

As of Monday morning, the announcement of Boseman’s death on Twitter has 7.4 million likes. But by Saturday, the post on the actor’s account had already become the most-liked post on Twitter.

“Fans are coming together on Twitter to celebrate the life of Chadwick Boseman, and the tweet sent from his account last night is now the most liked tweet of all time on Twitter,” the company said in a statement Saturday, according to Variety.

Prior to last weekend, the most-liked tweet was from Barack Obama. On Aug. 12, 2017 — the day of the Charlottesville, Virginia car attack at a protest against white supremacists — the former president shared the following Nelson Mandela quote: “No one is born hating another person because of the color of his skin or his background or his religion.”

That tweet garnered 4.3 million likes, according to Variety.

Obama was one of many people to pay tribute to Boseman on social media.

“Chadwick came to the White House to work with kids when he was playing Jackie Robinson. You could tell right away that he was blessed. To be young, gifted, and Black; to use that power to give them heroes to look up to; to do it all while in pain – what a use of his years,” the former U.S. president tweeted on Saturday.
