It’s worth noting that this is not the first time Sanders has received the meme treatment. In February 2020, as election season was just starting to heat up, the senator released a video where he uttered the phrase, “I am once again asking for your financial support.” Social media users decided to flip the line into a new meme template and had a field day with it.
