Lori Loughlin has been released from prison, and all signs point toward her making a comeback in the field. However, it’s unclear what opportunities might be out there for her at first.
Brand and reputation management expert Eric Schiffer, who does not represent Loughlin, told me he expects Loughlin to recover from her recent scandal. But she will need to engage with underprivileged communities to make it happen.
- “She will need to show a level of regret and remorse to the public. She’s got to begin to build back goodwill that allows people to reconnect with her and understand how she could have made such disturbing decisions that caused this struct development to her and her celebrity,” Schiffer said.
Because of this, Loughlin will be offered limited roles upon her return to acting. Specifically, she’ll have to play a more “nuanced” role that isn’t anything too large.
- “Walking out of prison makes it very difficult,” he said. “It’s going to take your time to get some opportunities, where she’s not playing either villains or darker characters with chilling ambition that she wasn’t known for. Her brand was squeaky clean and now it’s got to rectify this new persona in the public of a crafty con artist that creates problems.”
However, he said he wouldn’t be surprised if a producer gives her a look for a darker role.
- “It’s Hollywood, which means she will find a few producers who want to benefit from her post-prison publicity and embrace darker Lori Loughlin characters,” he said.
