“WandaVision” followed through on a promise made before the show dropped that it would provide a wink to “Full House” in its most recent episode.
What happened?
“WandaVision” released its fifth episode of the show on Friday morning. Like the first three episodes of the show, the Marvel project paid homage to an old sitcom show (the fourth episode took place in a normal setting, which was more like a traditional Marvel movie). This time, the sitcom-like reality seen in the show took on the appearance of ones from the ’80s.
- The episode included an introductory theme song, too, which paid homage to “Full House.” At the end of the opening video, it showed a family sitting together at a park eating a meal — an exact reference to the “Full House” theme song.
Context
- “WandaVision” star Elizabeth Olsen said back in January that the show will “wink” at “Full House,” as I wrote for the Deseret News.
- Olsen is the sister of twins Ashley and Mary-Kate Olsen, who starred on “Full House,” which included Lori Loughlin.
