Disneyland will kick off its soft reopening event this week — but there’s little chance you’ll get a ticket for it now.

What’s happening?

Disneyland’s California Adventure will host the “A Touch of Disney” event, which will act as a test run for the theme park’s reopening (Disneyland proper is set to reopen April 30), as I wrote for the Deseret News.

  • For $75, Disney fans can walk around the California Adventure property and buy food and merchandise. No rides will be available.

Who’s going to the event?

Demand is high for the event. Per The New York Times, “When tickets for the event went on sale on March 4, the demand made Disney’s website crash. Disney quickly made more tickets available, but they were all purchased within a few hours.”

  • A Disneyland spokesperson told me that “tickets for all dates are sold out.”

Fans told The New York Times they are excited to return to the park, even if they can’t ride any of the theme park rides.
