The upcoming Marvel project “Hawkeye” — which centers around the Avenger with the same name — may be getting its own spinoff in the future, centered around the character Echo, Variety reports.

  • The series, aptly, is titled “Echo.”

  • Echo, a deaf Native American superhero, “has the ability to perfectly copy another person’s movements or fighting style, making her a formidable opponent in battle,” according to Variety.
  • In the Marvel comics, Echo ends up fighting Daredevil, Moon Knight and the Avengers.
  • She is also the first character to use the name Ronin in the comics. For the uninitiated, Hawkeye became Ronin during “Avengers: Endgame” after the Blip.

Why it matters

This would be the first Disney+ Marvel series to receive its own spinoff, according to ComicBook.com. We’ve seen “WandaVision” and “The Falcon and The Winter Soldier” so far with “Loki” on the way in June. But none of these are spinoffs of each other.

Overall, “Star Wars: The Mandalorian” will reportedly have connections to other Disney+ shows — like “Rangers of the New Republic” and “Andor.” Both those series will not be direct spinoffs of “The Mandalorian.”
