The newest “Star Wars” original series is only two weeks away.
“Star Wars: The Bad Batch” shared its latest teaser on social media this week, hinting at what’s to come in the new show.
The Bad Batch — a group of clone troopers who have unique personalities — were originally introduced in the final season of “The Clone Wars,” which aired in early 2020.
- Each of the Bad Batch members have unique skills and talents that make them a valuable member of the squad.
The trailer, which you can see below, shows what we can expect in a post-“Clone Wars” world, which means we’re going to see elements of the Empire era of the “Star Wars” timeline.
The series will launch with a 70-minute premiere on May 4 — or “Star Wars Day.”
Disney released a full trailer for the show on March 30, as I wrote about for the Deseret News. The trailer came with details for the show, including that it will include 10 episodes. After the 70-minute premiere on May 4, new episodes will be released every Friday beginning on May 7.
Agnes Chu, senior vice president of content at Disney+, said “The Bad Batch” is meant to be a new chapter of “Star Wars” content for “Clone Wars” fans.
- “Giving new and existing fans the final chapter of ‘Star Wars: The Clone Wars’ has been our honor at Disney+, and we are overjoyed by the global response to this landmark series,” Chu said. “While the Clone Wars may have come to its conclusion, our partnership with the groundbreaking storytellers and artists at Lucasfilm Animation is only beginning. We are thrilled to bring Dave Filoni’s vision to life through the next adventures of the Bad Batch.”
